Havana Club 15 ans 40° : Description and customer reviews

Considered one of the finest Cuban rums, Havana Club 15 ans is the fruit of the union between the long tradition perpetuated by the Maestros Roneros and total mastery of the distillation and maturation processes. The blend that makes up this out-of-age cuvée is made up of several rums at least 15 years old, aged several times in oak casks.

Fewer than 60 casks a year are offered on the market, making this rum a rarity that will please collectors and connoisseurs in search of emotion.

Laurent's tasting notes

Its color is a deep copper.

The nose is intense with roasted aromas of cocoa and coffee. The heaviness of these aromas is nicely counterbalanced by a beautiful freshness. In the background, notes of nuts, dried fruit, vanilla and damp wood enrich the profile.

On the palate, the attack is lively and fairly dry. The roasted notes are still present, though less overwhelming, and give way to timid hints of spice and dried fruit.

The finish is long. The cocoa comes back impressively, both in taste and in a drying sensation. Vanilla tries to make room for itself, but the dark chocolate gives it almost no chance.

Delivery and product conform to their description made by the site.

For those who like roasted notes, it's very good, but it lacks length and is too expensive. If you're looking for coffee, go for Dictador 20 ans / XO, or even better Emperor pape clément for better value.

  3. Louison

Perhaps the best Havana rum I've ever tasted! A light, smooth rum that smells of caramel, coffee and roasted almonds. It's smooth and has a long finish. I was very pleasantly surprised by this product. A bottle for special occasions!
