This Reunionese arrangé is made with Isautier rum, fresh guavas and rooibos.
Rooibos is a South African shrub whose naturally oxidized leaves brew like tea. Unlike tea, it contains no theine.
Grown 200 km north of Cape Town, rooibos is considered a national beverage in South Africa. In France, it's called "red tea" because of its color when infused.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is highly fragrant and tropical. We quickly realize that the rooibos is there to counterbalance the exoticism of the more-than-perfectly picked guava. Cane syrup and a few sweet spices round things off.
On the palate, the rum is greedy and thick, quickly provoking a certain spicy heat that we hadn't seen coming. The guava paste coats the palate, at times bordering on dried apricot, and seems mixed with sweet caramel.
"A very soft, sweet arrangé, with extremely suave fruit, to be enjoyed chilled..."

it's so good, it tastes fantastic

Good guava taste, but it's a shame there's so much added sugar.

The best of the isautier arangés range for me, a pure syrup 😍

4 stars because I haven't personally tasted them, but we know the quality of Isautier products.

Much appreciated when I retired. With 4 vials of 50 cl (different blends) and the 3-liter bag of white rum that enabled me to extend them, I was able to serve around twenty "connoisseur" colleagues, and I still had some left over. The Guava Rooibos was almost empty, so it was much appreciated.
YAMINE
You can smell the guava, less the roiboos. But it's all right.
