Plantation Rum Pineapple, released in May 2016, comes from a unique manufacturing process. Pineapples are peeled by hand. The fruit rind is then infused with Plantation 3 stars (Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad) for a week, followed by distillation of the rum. Long before this stage, the pineapple flesh is infused with Plantation Original Dark (Trinidad, Jamaica) for several months. Finally, the distillate and infusion are blended by Ferrand's cellar master.
Production of this rum remains very limited, as it is linked to the Victoria pineapple harvest seasons.

Its color is somewhere between gold and amber.
On the nose, the power and freshness of the pineapple are simply impressive. It's like having a freshly opened pineapple right in front of you. Vanilla and pear aromas follow. Rum is not forgotten, and also makes its presence felt.
On the palate, contrary to what you'd expect from a rhum arrangé, it's not sweet. Fresh pineapple dominates the palate, followed by vanilla.
The finish is rather long, on a pleasant blend of pineapple and vanilla, which play off each other for quite a while.
