Marc Sassier, oenologist at Saint James and Bally, and president of the AOC Martinique, is honored to talk about the rums we'll be discovering (or rediscovering) during this evening at the Table du Loup in Paris's 12th arrondissement.
The list of rums we will be tasting on this occasion is as follows:
- a 1982 vintage
- a 1997 vintage
- the 2008 vintage brut de fût, recently released in collaboration with the Italian firm Velier.
- The 12-year-old
- Saint James 1765 (not the 1765 vintage...)
- Saint James L'essentiel
We'll end the session with a ti-punch Saint James fleur de canne and accras.
As a reminder, La Table du Loup is a "tapas bar" well known to some rum lovers in the Paris region. It offers a good selection of rums and spirits, as well as house-arranged rums. And, of course, you can also dine in.
Given the price of these bottles (just 650 euros for the 1982 vintage) and the limited number of participants (30 + the organizers), the contribution is higher than usual but still "reasonable": 40 € per person, which will allow you to taste all the rums and above all to listen to Marc and ask him any questions you may have.
Tickets must be ordered in advance (you'll simply be asked for your e-mail address as proof).
