Produced from the pure juice of cane grown in Mauritius, Arcane Cane Crush expresses the aromas of the Mauritian terroir.
This white rum to taste has benefited from double distillation in a column and in a traditional Cognac still. It is characterized by its supple and fruity character.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, no doubt, we are well on the cane. But not on fresh cane as for a West Indian farmer. Here we have more of a cane candy, almost a syrup which is not herbaceous but reduced, like candied. A little bitterness from lime zest brings balance to this.
Allowed to breathe, the pepper begins to sharpen the nose a little more. The balance is achieved little by little. The lime strengthens and becomes more and more bitter: we now think of its cousin kaffir lime.
It is the pepper which marks the entry into the mouth, it is dry and light. The cane is rustic, on straw, always with a little bitterness of lime zest. A mineral and salty side closes the dance.
A classic, lemony white rum lingers on the palate.
