We are pleased to present this rum distilled in pot still by Hampden (HGML mark, i.e. an ester content of between 1000 and 1100 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol), aged 4 years in virgin American white oak barrels in the cellars of the Danish house 1423.
Il nous a été proposé par Joshua conjointement à un Hampden C<>H, élevé dans les mêmes conditions, que nous avons également acquis sous la forme d’un fût disponible dans notre boutique de Bruxelles.
Distilled in 2020, this aromatic gem was bottled in 321 copies in October 2024. No reduction was made.
This is a Rhum Attitude exclusive.

Florian's tasting notes
The nose of this Hampden is expressive, with light solvents, toasted white sesame, lemon zest and juicy pineapple.
On the palate, it is fat and mineral, sparkling and peppery at the same time. Harlequin candy – even PEZ candy – combines with a green olive cooked in preserved lemons and eucalyptus.
This rum has a very long finish.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is what you would expect from a Hampden of this caliber, that is to say as powerful as it is gourmand, as serious as it is funky, as intimidating as it is irresistible. The very ripe tropical fruits are full of sugar, but also give off a little acidity, a sign of their advanced maturity. They are surrounded by black berries which themselves bathe in a gently spicy cream. The deeper notes seek out nuances of olive and leather.
Aeration allows us to read between the lines of this rum, to detect more pastry, biscuity and buttery notes. A little gingerbread then takes shape between the fruits and the leather, and brings a soft thickness that is simply disarming.
The palate is powerful and very firm in the first moments, with a smoky touch that makes us forget for a moment the pastry profile on which we could have unfortunately dozed off. The acidity of the fermenting exotic fruits then comes to brighten the palate and free it from any aggressive note. Then a sort of verbena syrup with sweet spices, pine sap and almond paste develops, soon joined by a beautiful ripe banana.
The finale continues with this frangipane fruit salad, simply irresistible and happily endless.
“Hampden, or the art of an unstoppable and unique delicacy…”
