Belize
Despite being a Central American country, Belize blends well with the Caribbean mentality. This geographical and ideological connection has allowed rum to take root in the country's culture.
Belize rum is not ancient history. The main rum production began in the 1950s. The abundance of sugar cane on the island inspired landowners to start producing rum. They each worked on their own recipes to bring them to market.
The rum industry in Belize today is dominated by Travellers Liquor. The second largest player in the rum industry is the Cuello distillery.
Belize rum brands include Travellers, Cuello and Old Master. The Fair brand also produces rum in Belize. Read less
