It was at the beginning of the 20th century that Guatemala began the commercial distillation of its rums. Ideally situated between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, Guatemala enjoys an ideal climate and fertile volcanic soils for growing the sugar cane needed for its rums.

Today, Guatemala has established itself as a world benchmark for its prolonged ageing processes at high altitude, as well as the choice of quality ingredients used in its rums. The country has already won a number of awards for its production methods. The country's rum-making know-how is a unique art form, carefully preserved and enriched over the years.

Guatemalan legislation requires that only virgin sugar from the first sugar cane press be used to create rums.

This know-how enables us to produce exceptional, smooth and elegant rums.

Guatemalan rum brands include Zacapa and Botran (produced at an altitude of 2,300 meters in the same distillery), as well as Montecristo. Read less
