Corman Collins Arturo Makasare 19 años 44°: Description and customer reviews

The Arturo Makasare series offers rums from the Dominican Republic aged without the solera system.

The casks were selected by Corman Collins.

This "ron" has therefore aged for 19 real years.

Nico's tasting notes

On the nose, there's all the roastiness you'd expect from a rum of this style, with the added bonus of a little prune with brandy and spices. The nuts have been well roasted, we imagine them dark but still intense, just like the burnt, cracked oak barrel.

Aeration gives way to walnut stain and very dark cocoa, still in the same spirit of brown, roasted aromas. The rum even seems powdery, like a charred barrel from which notes of warm nuts emerge.

The palate is intensely round, like black, sticky molasses, opening with very licorice-like flavors. In this very dark, very sweet atmosphere, a slightly frailer, finer rum emerges, built on light fruit and orange peel.

The finish is a little more woody, but again well caramelized.

"An extremely well rounded rum that brings out all the aromas of its cask..."
