Plantation Rum Panama 2008 is a molasses rum produced by Panamanian distillery Alcoholes Del Istmo. This cuvée is part of Plantation's 2022 Single Casks collection.
The company aims to showcase unique finishes in limited quantities.
The molasses was fermented over 2-3 days before the juice was distilled in a column still in 2008.
An initial 12 years' ageing was carried out on site in bourbon casks. The cask was then returned to France to spend a further year in Ferrand cognac barrels at Château de Bonbonnet.
The rum was then aged for a further 7 months in a barrel containing white Pineau des Charentes.
