Wharehouse Trelawny Treasure Too VRW Vale Royal 63°: Description and customer reviews

ATTENTION: we have several colors of this cuvée in stock (blue, red, green and yellow labels), the rum is strictly the same as specified by the bottler. If you'd like a particular color, send us an e-mail or give us a call before you order, and we'll do what we can. Of course, this is subject to availability.

This Trelawny Treasure Too VRW rum comes from Jamaica, more precisely from the Long Pond distillery.
It has been selected and bottled by Warehouse #1 under the WRHS #1 white rum range.

VRW (Vale Royal Wedderburn) is an abbreviation referring to the ester content classification used by Vale Royal Distillery. This distillery in the parish of Trelawny was founded in 1776 under the name Walky Walky. It changed its name to Vale Royal in 1828, and has been closed since 1959.
It is the Long Pond distillery that maintains the Vale Royal heritage by producing this VRW mark, with an ester content of between 150 and 250 grams per hectoliter of pure alcohol.

Nico's tasting notes

The nose is divided between a powerful solvent, typically associated with this funky style of rum, and a very soft, haunting, creamy, almost milky character. The very ripe pineapple still bears a few traces of its rind, giving it a natural feel and presence.

With aeration, the more ethereal notes are stripped away to find an intense, concentrated core, like a cherry pit with a metallic envelope.

The palate is extremely energetic and invigorating, without being aggressive. Exotic fruits first give way to highly concentrated black and red berries, such as blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, and even a tart burst of redcurrant. Heavier, tropical flavors take over, with over-ripe mango, pineapple and passion fruit with their bitter seeds.

The finish is very long, the rum clinging to the palate as it becomes increasingly creamy and pastry-like, even reminiscent of currants.

"A rum very typical of its tradition, extremely concentrated and aromatic yet surprisingly creamy..."
