Charrette rum is Réunion's most popular rum brand.
Its traditional 49° white rum is the best-selling. It is widely used locally to make rhums arrangés, but is also consumed as is. 80% of production (over 4 million liters) is sold on Réunion Island.
The brand is owned by Reunion-based Chatel, which was acquired from Martiniquaise in 2012. Read less
