Abelha Gold Organic is a traditional Brazilian cachaça made from a toasted heart drawn from organic sugarcane plants. It is then aged in small 250-liter casks for a period of 3 years. These casks, made from garapeira wood, give the cuvée an appreciable sweetness while balancing the aromas.
This cachaça can be enjoyed dry or on the rocks, as an aperitif or digestif, and is also used in the Brazilian cocktail known as quentao.
Nico's tasting notes
This cachaça offers a nose of fresh cane, lightly perfumed with a hint of woodiness. One imagines this cane with a very sweet juice. The white pepper is fine and discreet, subtly enhancing this very pleasant, natural nose. Some fresh fruit enriches the aromatic palette, but always in support of the cane, without overpowering it. The nose doesn't falter, so you can enjoy it and breathe it in for a while.
After shaking the glass, there's still no loss of energy. It's obviously less round, with a few metallic touches escaping with the alcohol. It is therefore drier, revealing more vegetal notes.
On the palate, the cane eau-de-vie promised on the nose comes through, with some fermentation aromas that bring out the rustic, artisanal side of this eau-de-vie. It remains light, however, with a hint of iodine. The cane juice is at the center of the tasting, still round, without the fiber or straw of the cane. The aftertaste is spicy and peppery, tingling the taste buds. Returning to the nose, the notes of fermentation are now much more evident. Among these powerful aromas, a little olive brine.
The finish is light, without leaving its mark on the palate. The cane juice flavors are soft and pleasant.
