AH Riise Pharmacy - Liquorice Hot Shot is a liquorice-flavored vodka liqueur. AH Riise's story began when he was appointed official pharmacist on the island of Saint Thomas. That's how he obtained permission to distill his first plants. He then began exploring traditional remedies containing rum and other alcohols.
This "pharmacy" collection is a continuation of the work of the brand's creator. This Liquorice Hot Shot was originally created to combat stomach upsets. It's a vodka liqueur to which English licorice, licorice root powder and salmiac licorice (a salty licorice) have been added.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is extremely concentrated and caramelized. It is unmistakably reminiscent of sugarcane molasses, with its aromas of cooked cane juice and hints of licorice.
On the palate, the texture is very thick, round and concentrated. The licorice flavors are clearly present, with their slightly vegetal and woody character. The impression of battery syrup or molasses remains unmistakable.
"A concentrate of sugar and licorice, to bring both sweetness and intensity to your cocktails..."
Carl-Christian Schmidt
Very good taste.
