The peaty single malt "Seimei" is the 7th whisky in the Solar Terme collection (or "24 seasons collection") from Japan's Akkeshi. This distillery, located on the island of Hokkaido, aims to bottle whiskies inspired by the ancient Asian calendar, in which one year is divided into 24 solar seasons. Each reference takes the name of the season in which it is bottled.
Seimei means "bright and clear" and heralds the beginning of spring, the 5th season of the calendar. Bottling took place in 2022.
