This Vanilla Lemon Caviar rhum arrangé is made from Guadeloupe white agricultural rum, lemon caviar, bourbon vanilla beans, spices and cane sugar syrup.
Lemon caviar comes from Microcitrus australasica, a large plant found in Australia.
The fruits, which average 6 cm in length, contain small beads that resemble caviar in appearance. In fact, they burst in the mouth in the same way, producing a tangy sensation.
A kilo of lemon caviar costs around 100 euros in Europe.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is fragrant and fresh, but also softly fruity. Far from giving a sweet impression, this rhum arrangé plays on the vegetal, acidity and bitterness of the fruit, the cane, without losing its deliciousness.
On the palate, there's always a sensation of balance, despite a very soft, sweet feel. The citrus fruit enters naturally into harmony with the rum, in a complex dance step.
"A very successful combination for this sweet but tasty rhum arrangé..."
