The rhum arrangé rubus idaeus from Arhumatic in Lille contains fresh raspberries, Guadeloupe rhum agricole and cane sugar syrup.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, the raspberry is very sweet, with a hint of vegetal. One might imagine that a few aromatic leaves had been added to the blend, but it's the cane that brings out this green edge. The naturalness of the raspberry is underlined by the slight bitterness of its seeds.
The palate is very well balanced in terms of sugar, and the raspberry has no problem expressing itself. Its delicate, slightly acidic character is rendered in a rounded, vegetal ambience, with the rhum agricole doing its job wonderfully. A surprisingly pleasant note appears on the finish: the raspberry berries take on a brioche-like air.
"A well-crafted, well-balanced arrangé, which moves from tart to brioche to cane..."
