Coconut has pride of place in this arrangé from Maison Bigallet: the combination of AOC agricultural rum from Martinique, coconut from Indonesia and organic cane sugar from Brazil produces an arrangé balanced between sweetness and the frank aromas of coconut.
Nico's tasting notes
In brief: rhum agricole - coconut - sweet spices - vanilla - sweet - balanced
On the nose, the freshness of the rhum agricole and the creaminess of the coconut come together seamlessly. The coconut appears natural and whole, not just milk but fresh flesh. The balance between the sugar and the strength of the rum is also well-adjusted, and we even notice a few little spices waving about.
The palate is very sweet and vanilla-like. The coconut only comes in mid-palate, in the form of a sweet liqueur. The rum comes back at the end of the mouth to avoid too much sweet coconut, and the balance is once again successful.
"A rather sweet arranged rum to be drunk chilled, with a nice balance of aromas..."
