Boca Loca is a cachaça from northern Rio de Janeiro.
Every stage of production is carried out using age-old techniques, guaranteeing an authentic, richly aromatic product. Harvesting is done by hand, while the pure cane juice obtained is fermented in a single batch. After distillation, Boca Loca cachaça is packaged by hand.
Boca Loca is the ingredient of choice for Brazil's national cocktail, the caipirinha.
Nico's tasting notes
The first nose of this Cachaça is very ethereal, very clean. So far, it's hard to distinguish this sugarcane brandy from a vodka. The alcohol evaporates, taking with it a few vapors of solvent.
With a little aeration, we can now identify some floral notes and a light cane. This lightness will continue to be the leitmotif: a few very fresh, almost white citrus fruits and a very fine white pepper follow.
The palate, too, is airy: the alcohol initially grips, then evaporates. The cane then soothes the palate, gently soothing. The fresh citrus is still there, as is the pepper, and we let ourselves be caressed by this light, discreet breeze.
The cachaça fades delicately on the finish, leaving a lemony impression mingled with refreshing alcohol.
"This cachaça is extremely light, almost neutral, and will subtly add alcohol to a cocktail..."
