This white rum is distilled in copper columns at the Bologne distillery in Basse-Terre.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a traditional agricultural rum, fresh and powerful. The lightest floral notes combine with citrus for a frank, punchy profile. The cane begins to detail its vegetal, peppery bark, for greater fullness and roundness. Aeration expands the citrus, which takes on a very sweet, lemony cane candy-like quality.
The palate is just as straightforward as the nose. The cane is straight, almost mineral, and it's mainly the pepper that makes itself known to the taste buds. The toast is powerful, the spices and pepper fiery. The fruit is fresh and slightly acidic, with a natural citrus note.
On the finish, the terroir resurfaces, with a peppery but also slightly sweet bagasse.
