Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a highly aromatic, concentrated rum. It unfurls fruity, spicy and woody notes in all directions. We then open a superb cigar box of exotic wood, just waxed, with powerful but not pungent spices. This is followed by an intense wave of elegant, long candied fruit.
Aeration reveals a beautiful wood, massive and imposing, yet elegantly crafted. Its fibers contain a wealth of spices and richly floral aromas, coiled between swollen veins of just-roasted nuts. Everything about this rum exudes concentration and quality.
On the palate, power is perfectly balanced with deliciousness. After a planty, resinous attack, a wave of dried fruits such as apricot and prune invades the tongue, then the whole taste buds. A second wave of vanilla and blond tobacco follows, completing the impression. The rum then wanders between soft wood, lime, sugar cane, honey, balsamic vinegar and more.
The elegant finish suggests an old cherry brandy in which the pits have been carefully uncovered.
"An agricultural rum that has it all: concentrated, complex, serious and gourmet. A favorite... "
