Braud & Quennesson is a Martinican rum distillery that opened at the end of 2022. It is located on the Grand Fonds housing estate in the south of Martinique.
After the 50° version , Braud & Quennesson offers here an agricultural white rum with a strength of 55°. Produced under the supervision of Stéphanie Dufour, the cellar master, this is distilled at the Simon factory like the HSE and Clément rums.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, a powerful yet velvety cane eau-de-vie unfurls like a flower in the glass. Inhabited by complex, multicolored exotic peppercorns, it tickles the nose for a moment before concentrating into an almost resinous juice.
With a little aeration, we come to touch very deep, sweet-and-sour notes like fermented cane juice, with an almost "wet animal" farmy air.
The palate offers a perfect balance of intensity, smoothness and flavor. In fact, it's with velvety power that we discover a cane juice with a truly natural, faithful and controlled expression. All the depth of the fermented juice is revealed, with no acidity or overpowering aroma to detract from the brandy's elegance.
The finish is again very tasty and full of umami, with candied vegetal full of tenderness, subtly salty and gently spicy.
"A rum full of class, with a strong character on the nose and a beautiful elegance on the palate..."
