Clément Millésime 1976 44°: Description and customer reviews

This Clément rum, distilled from the 1976 harvest, is a rare bottle. Each one is numbered.

The rum was aged in 200-liter oak barrels for 20 years.

A wooden box accompanies this collector's bottle.

Nico's tasting notes

The nose is elegant and truly expressive, for a fairly reasonable degree. Concentration and time seem to be at work here. Leather and roast are spiked with fine spices, cigar-box style, and wood is integrated with cane juice.

With aeration, a patina of dust evaporates, giving way to a cane that stretches the wood's tannins, turning them into dried fruit. Pear comes to the fore, as does lime zest, which becomes increasingly mellow and candied.

The palate is intense and full of ripe cane. Dried fruits such as apricot and mango melt in the alcohol and disintegrate on the tongue, leaving a greedy veil. The spices are tasty, accompanying the woodiness throughout the mid-palate. Cinnamon and pepper cling to the palate, maintaining a gently warming fire.

The finish is lighter, despite a mellow woodiness that lingers for a while.

"An elegant, old-fashioned rum that doesn't stray too far from today's Martinican taste..."

    very good :)

  2. Belly Daniel

It smelled very good to the nose but once in the mouth a little dry at first then there was a very good aftertaste. Really good, I would have at least tasted it lol.

My favourite rum for the past fifteen years!
