Founded in 2017, Clonakilty Distillery is located in the small town from which it takes its name. Located on the south coast of Ireland, it has been producing and maturing whisky since 2019. The distillery is owned by the Scully family who also own a farm. They have been growing old barley for 9 generations.
This whisky is made exclusively from barley grown by the Scully family or by farmers in the Cork region. Distilled three times in copper stills, then matured in a cellar overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this whisky embodies traditional Irish know-how. For aging, the cellar master uses old bourbon, Oloroso sherry and Amontillado sherry casks.
