This cask comes from Maison Prunier. It's a blend of cognacs aged 13-16 years in oak casks from the Tronçais forest. Most of the XO is fin bois and bon bois, but there are also smaller quantities of petite champagne, grande champagne and a little borderie. Fin bois 1995 is also part of the blend.
It has not been filtered or reduced.
We received it in our Brussels boutique at the beginning of March 2023. Come and meet our team, who will be delighted to let you taste it. Bring an empty bottle so you can leave with 50, 70 or 100 cl.

Nico's tasting notes
The nose quickly opens up to a lovely fruity, varnished freshness, highlighted and contrasted by melted tannins and a few slightly oxidized fruit skins. There's also a pretty pastry-like sweetness, gently embroidered with almonds and other kernels.
With aeration, the balance is established between a varnished woodiness that becomes increasingly elegant, and a basket of dried fruits with almond paste. The tannins are as mellow as ever, stretching their slightly vegetal freshness into orchard fruit aromas.
On the palate, this cognac offers a very soft, velvety feel that contrasts with the liveliness of the nose, without smothering its aromas. You can enjoy a handful of mellow tannins with fruity flavors, a lightly toasted woodiness that leads to pastry notes, inhabited by pits, jammy yellow fruit and sweet spices.
The finish is a little more sparkling, spiked with white pepper, and garnished with raisins in the length.
