Nico's tasting notes
The nose is complex and original, with a profile focused on very ripe fruit, but also on encaustic, wood and more caramelized notes. The nose alternates between funky, fresh and medicinal waves, then gently spicy. With aeration, the aromatic profile becomes clearer, but as crazy as ever. Ultra-ripe fruit joins olive and an animal side, while fresh, medicinal notes join spices to take the form of pastis anise.
The palate is round on the attack, with a slightly peppery, fruity woodiness. Then the spices become more present and, above all, fresher, leading to a more intense sensation. Ripe fruit and animal notes are strangely absent, exchanged for more acidic fruit.
The finish is spicy and a little sweet, leaving a minty freshness on the lips.
"While this rum is pure Jamaican and funky on the nose, it offers a calmer, more traditional palate..."
