This edition of Caol Ila showcases the expertise of Elixir Distillers, a British independent bottler renowned for its selections of Scottish single malts . Distilled in 2013 on the Isle of Islay , this single malt benefited from a maturation period of over 12 years before being selected for The Single Malts of Scotland – Small Batch collection.
Its unique characteristic lies in its maturation in four casks that previously held rum . This maturation choice brings an original dimension to this Islay single malt and illustrates Elixir Distillers' search for singular expressions inspired by Scottish distilleries.
The selection was made by Oliver Chilton, master blender of Elixir Distillers.
