Héritiers Madkaud Blanc Cuvée Castelmore is an AOC white rum made from pure Martinique cane juice.
Laurent's tasting notes
Its color is translucent.
On the nose, a fine cane. It's fresh and heady at the same time, greedy and dry. Notes of lemon, flower and pepper flatter the aromas of fresh cane juice.
On the palate, the attack is supple and the alcohol is initially discreet; it will only reveal itself if you keep this rum in your mouth. Cane and pepper lead the way.
The finish is moderately long, again largely dominated by cane aromas. After a while, pleasant vegetal/earthy notes appear.

On the nose 👃🏻: this is a rum that immediately offers a very fine olfactory note. The cane is fresh, the juice very vegetal and a little fresh, with powerful citrus notes, grapefruit and lemon zest. Moderately sweet on the nose, the gray pepper is still discreet but then asserts itself. It's not too lively, with a lovely aromatic profile, and gains in roundness as the glass is aired.
On the palate 👅: the attack is progressive, well-rounded and soft, initially on the fruity, vegetal side of the cane. Then it rises with relative power on pepper in the first mouthful. From the second sip onwards, the spices leave their mark, and it really reveals itself, which I like a lot. The fruitiness is nicely sweet and a little tart, and the pepper in particular is enhanced by these other spices. The whole thing gives notes that come close to roasted coffee beans, I'd say. There's that well-flavored, controlled and pleasant touch that characterizes it.
The finish is drier and rather long. It fades mainly on the vegetal and herbaceous side of the cane, with its still lively pepper 👌
No need for ti'punch with this rum, it stands perfectly on its own 👍 It works very very well dry, I really like this balance on the nose and palate. It's a good discovery 😀

Castelmore, I demand MORE!
A very intense nose of pure cane juice rum.
On the palate, the cane is in place. Nothing transcendent, but an interesting rum with character, thanks to a warm finish. There's a slight fruity note and a hint of spice.
It's a good rum for a ti punch or a punch.
