JM Jardin fruité is a rum from the " Atelier des Rhums " series, created by the famous Martinique distillery. Karine Lassalle, cellar master, and Joseph Akhavan, founder of the Mabel bar, joined forces to create this range dedicated to cocktails.
This is an agricultural rum aged for 24 months in barrels of different origins. The French and American oaks were given different toastings, each delivering a different aromatic profile. The aged rums were blended to obtain a profile that evokes exotic and flambéed fruits.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose lives up to its promise, with a sweet fruit salad in syrup. It's a very colorful nose, with fruits of all kinds that have one thing in common: they're perfectly ripe and bursting with sunshine. The cane is nestled in the heart of this fruit basket, or even compote, and is joined by a small cinnamon stick.
Aeration and rest bring out a soothed, mature rum, conquered by candied cane. Its vegetal side is tender and mellow, caressing a mountain of sleeping dried fruit.
The palate is soft and fluid, with a smooth, ripe, mellow, candied cane. Its sweet flesh is bursting with mild spices, which flow like syrup. Cinnamon, tonka bean and nutmeg coat roasted exotic fruits such as banana and guava.
The finish is inhabited by superb, very ripe cane, with sweet aromas of whole cane sugar.
"A very gourmet treat for this agricultural rum that is indeed fruity, but also deliciously spicy..."
