Longueteau blanc 40° is made from 2 varieties of cane harvested on the estate: blue cane (40%) and red cane (60°).
It is bottled after an intense brewing process.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a lovely, open cane, soft and fragrant. Its juice is tinged with pepper, and we touch its bark with notes of straw. If you linger long enough, you'll get a taste of fermentation, with deeper aromas of undergrowth.
Aeration brings out the fullness and roundness, as well as an almost woody character. The cane fiber is bursting with juice and sugar, the bagasse is candied and mellow. This roundness is complemented by sweet spices that complete a very appealing picture.
On the palate, this is a Guadeloupean rhum agricole, with a delicious taste of candied fruit and sweet cane. Flambéed exotic fruits follow, pineapple first, then mango and banana drizzled with lime.
The finish is slightly peppery, and a slightly drier bark reappears.
"A very fine delicacy for this rum that exudes the goodness of Guadeloupe..."
