Nikka Frontier is a Japanese blended whisky that pays homage to the pioneering spirit of Masataka Taketsuru, founder of the Nikka distillery and an iconic figure in Japanese whisky. Launched in Japan in 2024, this expression reflects the brand's commitment to exploring new avenues in the art of blending.
Its composition relies on a significant proportion of malt whiskies, including peated malts (51%) primarily from the Yoichi distillery, located on the island of Hokkaido. These are blended with grain whiskies produced in Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery, near Sendai. This complementarity between the two types of whisky forms the heart of the blend and contributes to its balance.
Bottled at 48% vol., Nikka Frontier benefits from non-chill filtered filtration , a method designed to preserve the natural components of the whisky.
