Penderyn Legend is a single malt made in Wales.
It was aged in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in Madeira wine barrels for a few more months.
Before bottling, it has not been cold-filtered.
Florian's tasting notes
The nose is quite promising for a whisky at just 41%. It revolves around white fruits (apple is notable). Wax and honey soon make themselves felt, followed by vanilla and butter. Spices and caramel appear at the end of the nose.
On the palate, the distillate is soft, very suave and honeyed, with white flowers. A sensation of apple and dried banana asserts itself. Forest honey and spicy oak add depth.
The finish is quite primary: malt, apple and vanilla. There's also a lingering floral note, long enough to be worth noting.
