This Dormoy punch is made with Martinique white rum, ginger and Guarana. Like most punches, it's best served chilled!
Guarana is a plant from the Amazon rainforest with the highest caffeine content in the world.
Ginger comes from India. In the Middle Ages, it was considered a magical aphrodisiac...
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, we discover a rather unusual exoticism, first lemon juice, then fresh spices and slightly bitter, almost woody, fruity aromas. A hint of herbal notes adds freshness.
The palate is round but also spicy, with the ginger immediately beginning to numb the tongue. It's a pleasure to indulge, especially as the rum doesn't sting or burn at any point. The mid-palate is warm, peppery and lemony, but quickly fades to fragrant spices.
"An interesting and warm punch, to be drunk well chilled and why not extended with tonic..."
Christophe
Very spicy, but really too much, reserved for tough guys who like it hot. Not really my thing... But mixed in equal parts with Gwozey Peyi, it was fine.
But I wouldn't use it again. As for the free plastic glass, I'm not interested.
