Rasta Morris Maman Brigitte 43°: Description and customer reviews

Rasta Morris Maman Brigitte is a blended rum created by Belgian bottler Asta Morris. It takes its name from the voodoo goddess of death, Maman Brigitte, the female alter ego of the famous Baron Samedi. This Caribbean blend features rums ranging from 3 to 8 years of age. On the program: Barbados, Dominican Republic and Jamaica. Bon voyage!

Nico's tasting notes

On the nose, there's a really fruity, fragrant aroma that would lead us towards a full-bodied, exotic English style. This fruit salad remains light at first, more like an orchard than a tropical jungle. Then it gradually gains in warmth and moisture, as well as exotic aromas.

On aeration, we've definitely arrived at a very fruity profile, full of pineapple, mango and a hint of guava. A few sweet spices add a pastry touch, and a certain harmony is established.

The palate is very smooth, very easy, but the flavors are really there. There's a kind of sweetness that's both very round and caramelized, but also sunny and exotic. The soft, mellow woodiness contains a lovely syrup of vanilla and sweet spices, with a hint of coconut, which spreads generously over our now slightly dried exotic fruits.

The finish sums up all this savory, pastry-like and gently spicy character.

"A very interesting, well-balanced blend that manages to create a great delicacy without getting bogged down for a second..."
