This Relicario Vermouth Finish rum is based on the classic Relicario, finished in vermouth barrels for 6 months.
Originating in the Dominican Republic, Relicario rum is the fruit of a blend of different rums aged between 5 and 10 years in a tropical climate. This aging is not carried out using the solera method often found in traditional Spanish rums.
Instead, the blend is further aged in oak casks containing Mancino Vecchio vermouth.
Mancino Vecchio vermouth is a famous aromatic sweet wine. Made from 38 plants and fortified Trebbiano wine, it is then aged for a year in Italian oak barrels.
It's an original creation with a finish that's unusual in the world of rum.
