Reunion Island's traditional old rum Rivière du Mât Grande Réserve is a sun-drenched cuvée with a remarkable aromatic bouquet. Aged for at least 8 years in oak casks in the island's tropical climate.
Laurent's tasting notes
It's somewhere between old gold and amber.
On the nose, you'll find baked caramel, "burnt rubber", raisins and vanilla, making for a complex whole.
On the palate, the attack is supple and you'll find that rubberiness again, but less pronounced. The grape is still there and the barrel is making itself felt.
The exceptionally long finish is again marked by grapes, rubber and a hint of pepper.
