Savanna Lontan 57.5 is a grand arôme, a rum that has benefited from a particularly long fermentation (6 days instead of 2-3 for a "classic" rum), producing pronounced aromas of ripe fruit, olive in brine and medicinal notes. It was then distilled in copper columns.
The level of aromatic molecules (esters) in this rum is indicated on the bottle. It varies from batch to batch. If you require a particular batch, please contact us before ordering, and we'll tell you what we have in stock. Each batch is a limited edition.

Nico's tasting notes
In brief: complex - fruit - plant - animal - iodine
The nose is powerful, extremely concentrated yet balanced, one might even say smooth as the aromas present themselves without any sense of disorder. The very nature of these aromas, however, is anything but smooth: green olives in brine, overripe pineapple, iodine notes, crushed red fruit, resin - these are uncompromising, assertive notes.
With aeration, the aromas are as crazy as ever, and it would take time to overcome this concentration. Something even more animalic has crept in, strips of fresh leather, and then earthy, loaded notes that come from the heart of fermentation.
The palate is round and fat, much more forgiving than expected. The aromas aren't all that furious either; in fact, they're truly gourmand. Here we have a concentrate that sums up everything a rum needs to gain in character: the fullness of exotic fruit, the mellow, vegetal complexity and the salty touch of olive due to heavy fermentation.
The finish is inevitably interminable, especially salty, slightly herbal and bitter.
"A grand aroma rum of disconcerting ease, Savanna at the top of her game..."
