Grandmont Swell Batch #1 48.4°

Swell de Grandmont liqueur is the fruit of collaboration between Swell de Spirits and Distillerie de Grandmont. The latter, located in Haute-Vienne, is renowned for its reinterpretations of old spirits.

The first batch of this liqueur contains rum produced in Belize in 2008, as well as around a hundred plant substances.

This collaboration produced 958 bottles.

Nico's tasting notes

The nose is a large bowl of vegetal and fragrant freshness, with herbal teas drying in a polished cabinet, a hint of liquorice or anise, candied aromatics but still very green and refreshing.

The palate shows an unsuspected complexity which begins with a bouquet of dried flowers, then moves on to herbal tea, before turning to anise candies, licorice stick, all with a completely welcome power. The spices linger for a while in the mouth, like a clove combined with a star anise.
