This 15-year-old Mugi Shochu Japanese edition is a bottling of Irish whiskey from Teeling. Part of the Explorers collection, this blend combines the cultures of Ireland and Japan.
Made from a recipe of corn and malted barley, this whiskey was aged for 11 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks. It was then transferred for a further 4 years to casks that had previously contained a Mugi Shochu.
This type of Shochu is made from barley known as "Mugi" in Japanese. It is fermented using the traditional Koji fermentation process, then distilled in a still and aged in Japanese oak casks.
This 15-year-old whiskey is not chill-filtered.
