Tasting notes from Thomas
The nose is rich, mellow, immediate and full-bodied. It's the fruitiness that jumps out at us. Apricot jam, orange and blueberry are in harmony, without too much sugar. Then come orange blossom, almonds, hazelnut powder and fresh mango. The exoticism gradually grows with Buddha's hand and acerola.
Aeration takes us away from the fruity hegemony to offer fresher notes. The undergrowth is represented by notes of lichen, some softened camphor and touches of eucalyptus. At this point, spices (cinnamon, ginger) and wood make their appearance.
The palate is silky and surprisingly lively for its 42%. The exoticism perceived on the nose is still there: mango, mangosteen, acerola. Sichuan pepper, cinnamon and ginger soon add a spicy twist. Then, moss and a little camphor make the midpalate both cool and warm. We then move on to small herbs (nettles in particular) accompanied by honey and sweet grapes.
The finish is more modest, returning with its share of sweet grapes, spices (cinnamon, Sichuan pepper) and fresh white fruit. A touch of wood, spices and a fruity base (sweet grapes, mango) remain on the palate. A fresh, vegetal return (between ginger, pepper and eucalyptus) is then felt.
" An imperiouscognac ,where plant freshness, wood and spices revive a sweet basket of fruit..."
