Whistle Pig Old World Rye is a rye whiskey crafted by the Whistle Pig farm/distillery. Located in Shoreham, Vermont, Whistle Pig has only been distilling since 2015. This expression is made from batches of Canadian rye whiskey.
This vintage, dubbed “Old World Rye,” is the result of many years of aging. This rye whiskey combines the authenticity of traditional American distilling with aging in Old World wine barrels.
After aging for over 10 years in new American oak barrels, the whisky is separated into three types of casks. Like a conductor, the master blender creates a true symphony. The final blend consists of whiskies matured in Madeira (63%), Sauternes (30%), and Port (7%) casks.
