Château du Tariquet is a wine estate producing armagnac.

Its story begins in the 19th century. In a difficult context, the Ariège village of Ercé had an astonishing specialty: bear training. Young Artaud set off around the world to practice this profession.

However, in 1912, he returned to France and fell in love with Le Tariquet. Later, with the help of his son Jean-Pierre, a bartender in New York, he bought the property. As phylloxera raged, only 7 hectares managed to survive.

Later, during the Second World War, Pierre Grassa was repatriated and joined the Resistance in Éauze, where Le Tariquet is located. There he met Jean-Pierre Artaud's daughter Hélène. Their union marked the birth of a winegrowing ambition.

In 1972, the couple and their children set up a company to sell their Bas-Armagnacs. Then, in 1982, they diversified into white wine.

Since then, Château du Tariquet has developed an environmentally-friendly approach.

The range comprises various ages: classic VS, VSOP, XO,Hors d'âge, légendaire, folle blanche, blanche AOC,Cabine armagnac and vintages (1993, 1994, 1995). Read less
