At the origin of the Ricci Family, there's the father. Owner of a prestigious nightclub in Cannes, he is also passionate about spirits. It was this passion that he passed on to his sons, Morgan and Esteban. The former already had his foot in the door, with a background as a wine and champagne sales agent. He also worked as a wine merchant in Antibes, and it was there that he fell in love with rum.

So, in 2019, the two brothers set up a breeding, blending and bottling business in the family home in Mougins, in the Alpes Maritimes. Here, they give free rein to their passion for blending and breeding. What unites them is a desire for creativity, where finding harmonies is the ultimate quest.

Initially, the idea was to practice blending only, with rums that were affordable in taste and price. Subsequently, however, prestigious rums, more powerful rums and even single casks combining all these characteristics were created.

Production of Famille Ricci rums

The Ricci family's winery is overflowing with barrels. They may be made of acacia, chestnut or, of course, oak. They are sometimes new, but may also have contained different alcohols, whether wines or other spirits.

Ricci Family rums always benefit from additional ageing. The aim is to systematically add complexity and other aromatic notes. Blends may contain many origins at once, but the rums that make them up are always aged separately. An additional aging step is always applied. This involves aging the rum in small 50-liter casks, which have been toasted using an exclusive toasting process, a house secret.

The first rum to be marketed is a tribute to the patriarch. Dynasty is a blend of 4 different origins (Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and Oceania), aged between 4 and 7 years. For accessibility, this cuvée is slightly sweet at 13 g/L.

Next come the Influences cuvées, blends of two provenances, then the more powerful Volt Face, as well as exceptional cuvées like Quintessence, UFOs, or exclusive single casks. Read less
