Located in Sorbets , in the Gers region , in the heart of the finest terroirs of Bas-Armagnac , Château de Laubade is a 105-hectare vineyard, founded in 1870 and owned by the Lesgourgues family for three generations. Today managed by Denis Lesgourgues, alongside his sister Jeanne and his brother Arnaud, the estate produces Armagnacs renowned for their unique character, combining traditional craftsmanship, innovation, and a commitment to environmental responsibility.

A benchmark in France and in more than 50 countries, the estate, rich in over 150 years of history, received the Living Heritage Company label in 2015 and has been ISO 9001 certified since 2008. Its vineyard, planted on tawny sand and boulbène soils, is subject to sustainable viticulture promoting biodiversity: green manures, mechanical weeding, production of organic fertilizer thanks to a flock of sheep, preservation of oak and poplar groves, and promotion of resistant grape varieties such as Baco.

The white wines, which are unsulfited, are distilled immediately after fermentation in a dedicated Armagnac still . Continuous distillation, carried out grape variety by grape variety (Baco, Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard, etc.), aims to preserve the aromatic richness of each wine under the precise control of the cellar master.

True to Maurice Lesgourgues' vision, the house prioritizes a long aging process to guarantee exceptional quality. The eaux-de-vie, aged separately by grape variety and vintage in nearly 3,000 Gascon oak barrels, benefit from meticulous monitoring right up to the final blending. Traceability, transparency, and precision guide every bottling.

Combining Gascon tradition and a pioneering spirit, Château de Laubade is shaping the Armagnac of tomorrow, notably through the reintroduction of ancient grape varieties and bold aging practices. Read less
