Westland is a young American distillery, located in Seattle, Washington. At the origin, there are two men. First, Emerson Lamb, who has since left the venture. Secondly, Matt Hoffman, the master distiller and co-founder of the project.

The philosophy behind Westland is simple. Like Scotch whisky, it seeks to express its territory and natural heritage. Transparency is also essential. From local raw materials to the manufacturing process, the distillery makes available essential information about its whiskeys.

Westland does not have an archetypal perception of whisky. That's why it produces single malt whiskeys. In fact, three permanent editions illustrate the distillery's style:American Oak, Peated and Sherry Wood.

There are, of course, limited editions such as Hand-Filled #885, Winter or Garryana, aged in an oak tree of the same name (Quercus Garryana).

Finally, the distillery was recently acquired (in 2017) by Rémy Cointreau. Read less
