Ecuadorian rums are mainly produced from molasses, itself a product of sugarcane. They are light, unaged rums, inspired by Cuban rums.
Ecuadorian rum brands include Cristal Limón (a lemon-flavored white rum popular in the country), Nation, Cotopaxi (aged in a cellar at 3200 meters for at least 13 years in casks), Cimborazo (from Ecuador's highest mountain, aged for at least 12 years in casks) and Pichincha. Read less
