Like all the rums in the range, Arcane Flamboyance is first distilled from fresh cane. Its unique feature is its aging method: in a small cherry wood barrel, in the tropical climate of Mauritius.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose of this rum is very fruity and floral. It opens with a fruit syrup, with peach and cherry. Then flowers enter the scene, heady like rose, or white like jasmine. It seems to have been conceived as a perfume. The freshly cut herbs are still covered in dew, and introduce very fresh fruits like white peach or melon.
The palate is very smooth, with very pronounced cherry aromas. The woodiness seems totally imbued with this cherry water. The fiber is swollen and mellow, opening out to peach and apricot, with a hint of lemon. The slight bitterness of the botanicals is counterbalanced by a certain roundness.
The finish takes a spicy turn, still very sweet, with cinnamon and vanilla.
