Ardbeg An Oa takes its name from the peninsula located southwest of the distillery, the Mull of Oa. This peaty whisky pays homage to this place whose cliffs face the storms and waves of the Atlantic. According to the inhabitants of this region, the Ardbeg distillery would be constantly subjected to the powerful assaults of the Atlantic if it were not for the presence of this wild piece of land.
This permanent edition of the distillery comes from the “gathering vat”, a blending vat. It brings together malts aged in Pedro Ximénez barrels, as well as in bourbon barrels or even in new barrels.
