This AOC Martinique rum is made from the cane of a single plot of land called "Dufferet". This plot is located in a wet zone, not far from the Galion sugar refinery.
Aged in French oak barrels.
The attractive bottle containing this agricultural rum is custom-made from 70% recycled glass.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is limpid, taut and concentrated, with fresh cane whose bark is sprinkled with pepper. This bagasse side shows us a beautiful, intense piece of terroir, before melting into almonds and other fatty nuts.
Aeration confirms our feeling that we're dealing with a kind of nut paste, featuring peanuts, almonds and a few macadamia nuts. The cane oozes between the staves of the oak barrel, like concentrated juice underlined by lime zest.
The palate is soft and fine, with cane juice just transformed by distillation. From this stage, a slight copper accent can be detected, mingling with the pepper of bagasse. The rum then melts quietly, offering subtle notes of wood, nuts and pits.
The finish is fruitier, returning to cane and sweet citrus.
"Subtlety and an elegant profile for this young rum from Martinique..."
