Baie Des Trésors Plein Soleil is an AOC Martinique agricultural rum produced by the Galion farm. It owns and cultivates 500 hectares of sugar cane.
The canes come from the Fond Basile plot, located in a dry zone. They benefit from a fiery and continuous sun by the sea, on volcanic soils rich in minerals. Stéphane Gouyer, creator of the Baie des Trésors brand, practices his own distillation method on the column at Saint-James. A slow reduction is then carried out to allow all the aromatic richness of this tasting white rum to be expressed.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens on a rather precise and elegant cane, which nevertheless does not lack softness and deliciousness. It's a nice balance that we find here in short, with a finely crafted rum. The cane juice is fresh and garnished with quite bitter and powerful citrus fruits, but the vegetal side of the cane fiber is rather mature and slightly spicy.
With ventilation, the rod does not deviate from the path for a second and maintains its rather serious and straight appearance. It is reinforced by discreet fermentation notes which flirt with steamed vegetables, as well as by elegant pepper.
On the palate , we find this chiseled rum which definitely conveys a feeling of control and serenity. On its strength, it unfolds a luminous and whole cane which melts into peppery, delicately earthy and vegetal notes. The balance is felt even in the texture, both oily and clean, but also in the remarkably adjusted power.
The finish is warm and tasty, the rum retains its elegance until the end.
“A remarkable agricultural rum of mastery, a very fine representative of Martinique…”
